About

The Amiais village is set in a magnificent natural scenery provided by the green of the mountains and of the agricultural terraces that surround it and by the great water mirror offered by Ribeiradio dam in the Vouga river. A group of twenty houses made of granite and a community eira - threshing floor with magnificent seven granaries form this beautiful Aldeia de Portugal®. In olden times the eira - threshing floor and granaries, where the agricultural labors were animated with dancing and singing, are now one of its main tourist attractions. Near the village, the restaurants serve 99 delicious roast veal from Sever do Vouga with arroz o forno - rice made in the oven, lamprey rice, rojões (pork meat) with turnip greens and roasted lamb, as well as the lampreia à bordalesa - “bordalesa lamprey”.
