Elle est issue de la confluence des rivi\u00e8res de Silvares et de Gondim avec la rivi\u00e8re Marialva. A partir de la jonction de ces 3 lignes d\u2019eau, la rivi\u00e8re Arda acquiert son nom en amont de Burgo. Traversant toute la vall\u00e9e d\u2019Arouca et une partie de la for\u00eat de Castelo de Paiva c\u2019est ici, \u00e0 Pedorido, qu\u2019elle rejoint les eaux du Douro. Foz do Arda est un site naturel d\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat du point de vue du paysage, excellent pour la pratique de la p\u00eache et pour l\u2019interpr\u00e9tation de la biodiversit\u00e9, sp\u00e9cialement l\u2019avifaune (ensemble des oiseaux d\u2019une r\u00e9gion).
