{"id":15527,"date":"2022-10-11T16:18:20","date_gmt":"2022-10-11T15:18:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/montanhasmagicas.pt\/?post_type=points_of_interest&#038;p=15527"},"modified":"2022-10-11T16:18:20","modified_gmt":"2022-10-11T15:18:20","slug":"minas-do-bracal","status":"publish","type":"points_of_interest","link":"https:\/\/montanhasmagicas.pt\/en\/points_of_interest\/minas-do-bracal\/","title":{"rendered":"Minas do Bra\u00e7al"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The mining complex of Bra\u00e7al (that includes the mines of Bra\u00e7al, Mines of Malhada and Mines of Coval da M\u00f3) is located in the area of river Mau, on the East hillside of the Bra\u00e7al mountain, and has allowed for one of the biggest mining deposits exploitation in the Aveiro region. The operation started in the mines of Bra\u00e7al in 1836, ending in 1918; in 1943 recommenced, extending it to the mines of Malhada (further north) and remained in operation until 1972, when it came to have more than 700 workers. The mines of the Bra\u00e7al explored hydrothermal veins rich in lead (Pb), zinc (Zn) and silver (Ag).
