Favored by nature and the unique characteristics of its geology, it is also a territory full of archaeological, historical and cultural values, recognized since April 2009 by UNESCO\u2019s European and Global Geoparks Network.<\/p>\n<p>The Arouca Geopark owns 41 points of geological interest &#8211; unique sites of outstanding scientific, educational and tourism value, with highlight to the Gigant Trilobites of Canelas, the \u201cParideiras\u201d Stones, the Frecha da Mizarela and the Vale do Paiva Ichnofossils.<\/p>\n<p>The Arouca Geopark\u2019s mission is to preserve and promote this invaluable heritage, promoting a sustainable development of the territory and of its richness.<\/p>\n<p>Taking as a starting point the discovery of Arouca Geopark\u2019s geological heritage and the
