One of its most remarkable example is the section of the roman road, that goes through Manhouce, connecting Vissaium (Viseu) to Portus Cale (Porto); and the roman road of Ereira, a section that belonged\u00a0to a secondary road connecting Olissipo (Lisbon) to Bracara (Braga).<\/p>\n<p>The romans were also responsible for discovering the therapeutic and healing properties of S. Pedro do Sul and Carvalhal (Castro Daire) thermal waters. It is said that S. Pedro do Sul Thermal Spa, currently considered the largest and most developed in the Iberian Peninsula, received some of our monarchs, including King Afonso Henriques, King Manuel I and Queen Am\u00e9lia.<\/p>\n<p>There is a curious example of a roman aqueduct in Gestoso, S. Pedro do Sul, and in Arouca the ruins of what appears to be a farm from roman times were discovered, witnessing the ancestry of land occupation in the small valleys of the Arda basin.
